Good question! The numbers are a bit misleading, so here's how it works: - The "5 calories" isn't a per-tick cost. Human-powered vehicles build up their calorie cost while moving and only take it from your stomach once it passes 5. The Powered Cart actually burns 0.5 calories per second, so you lose 5 roughly every 10 seconds of driving. - Walking costs nothing extra. On foot at normal speed you only burn your passive metabolism (the -0.83 you're seeing). So yes, compared to plain walking, the cart does cost a bit more. - Sprinting costs far more. Holding sprint burns around 2.5 calories per second, about 5 times what the cart costs. If "jog" means sprinting, the cart is the cheaper option. - Clothing that changes calorie consumption also affects vehicles, and a broken part doubles the cart's calorie cost. Worth checking both if the numbers seem high.
