Version 9 Client accessibility

While there have been many additional features and mechanics added, a number of players liked the feel of the game prior to the introduction of settlements. It would be nice if the final V9 release client was made available through steam, so that people who wish to engage in legacy gameplay can do so. As it stands, many of us have mods and server files for this version, but could not offer a server like this easily, as we cannot distribute the client version. This could be done simply by adding the V9 client to the list of beta clients. The only issue with this that I could see is the newer authentication system. I'm not sure if connection through IP would bypass this? Either way, it would be nice to have some sort of official "blessing" to work in the version 9 build.

Hello BK, unfortunately that is not possible - as we announced on September 28 the backend servers for Eco versions before Update 11 were shut down permanently on October 7. This means that even if you somehow had access to these clients, you couldn't play with them. That unfortunately is also not going to change, as we can no longer support the old backend systems nor such old versions of the game.

I guess it's worth mentioning that the pieces of V9 that are sought after, are systemic changes such as water behavior, deed splitting, and an overall rewind on the splitting of professions and object maintenance.
