Trader/Merchant Profession
The trader profession is a “niche” role most servers already strive to create. Things this role could gain are speed boosts, NO maintenance on vehicles, extra backpack carry weight. Some things they could craft could be very dependent on the new star system. For example, maybe they’re the ones who actually craft the mint, bank, and currency exchange. The trader star system could specialize the trader into the different modes of transportation as far as land, sea, rail, or air. The trader could earn experience on distance traveled from the purchasing store to the other markets. So even if a trader bought and sold something AT value, but a decent distance, they would still gain expierence. Anything in less than 75meters grants no experience. Merchants main crafts though would be improved stores. The store is the most useful and used item and could use some love. Scratch the “one click displays all store” Street food boxes to display cooked food, cake holders, meat hooks, log racks, grocery aisles, traders could add the much needed immersion of stores. Merchants would craft these items. Other items could include items to permit loans more practically, stock exchanges, and so much more. The main goal is to create actual professions to promote the distribution of goods.

I like both parts of this! I think I'd prefer to keep the Store as the main interface for purchasing items, but I would like immersive "storage" - pastry case, deli case, etc. to replace chests and iceboxes. I see a lot of glass being used here. :D
