Too much sewage

Waste filters produce copious amounts of compost, which ends up filling stockpiles and generally being a chore to deal with. There's not enough need/demand for compost, which can already be created from spoiled food (which is arguably a much more realistic pathway to getting compost). Also in terms of realism, the products of blast furnaces and other industrial processes wouldn't be something that could be used to make compost. Human waste can be used in compost but it's generally avoided in modern times due to disease risk and pharmaceutical contamination. I would propose that 1) the amount of solid waste produced by the waste filter should be reduced, and 2) instead of compost, maybe the waste filter should produce a small-ish quantity of trash blocks which would create a market for trash burial services (similar to tailings burial, but affects players who aren't miners).
