Pricing tool
Hi there,
After spending over 1800 hours playing ECO, I find that pricing items is the most challenging aspect for me.
I was wondering if the game could include a tool within the store interface that allows players to input prices for raw materials, and then suggests the material cost for recipes based on those inputs.
For example, this tool could feature a list of all raw materials, such as rocks (basalt, gneiss, granite, limestone, sandstone, shale, stone) and logs (birch logs, cedar logs, ceiba logs, fir logs, etc.).
Using a MILL recipe as an example, which requires 40 rock tags and 20 wood tags, the store could suggest a material cost if it knows the prices of the raw materials. If logs are priced at 0.2 and rocks at 0.2, the calculation would be (40 x 0.2) + (20 x 0.2) = 8 + 4 = 12 total material cost.
Additionally, the store could suggest a manufacturing rate to be added to the final price. In this example, if the material cost is 12 and the manufacturing rate is 10%, the final price would be 13.2.
Moreover, it would be beneficial to include the ability to add a price for the amount of calories needed and a profit margin field (e.g., 10%, 20%). To be clear, these calculated prices would be suggestions, and the player would be able to overwrite whatever the game suggests.
Incorporating a pricing tool like this into the game would be extremely helpful.
While there is a COST CALCULATOR MOD (https://eco.mod.io/cost-calculator), it is not very user-friendly. For instance, calculating the price of a STEAM TRUCK is quite complex.
Attached is an example of the pricing for FRIED CAMAS using that mod.
