Please allow players to explicitly select or exclude specific items when fulfilling a generic tag requirement in a crafting recipe

Currently, if a recipe calls for a generic tag, the crafting will automatically pull any valid ingredient it finds based on a strict left-to-right stockpile order, except for items with freshness where it will consume the lowest-freshness items first. This behavior often leads to a player accidentally consuming their precious resources when they wanted to use a cheaper alternative. Such as consuming limestone when crafting Geology Research Papers, losing precious gold ore to Metallurgy Research Papers, or turning their palm logs into boards. While this can technically be managed via meticulous stockpile filtering, it is incredibly tedious and mistakes are easy to make. This change would especially make a cook's life much easier. Even with an understanding of the freshness priority rule, it's easy to lose specific crops like beets to a generic "Vegetable" tag, or rare pineapples to a generic "Fruit" tag when you intended to save them for recipes that specifically call for them.

This has been implemented in Update 14, which is currently in playtest.

Merged a mostly identical suggestion into this submission, given it is much better described and worded.

@Dennis That solution is only possible if you are not using the store and trade.

You could already achieve this by sorting gravel depending on its type into storages and then sort them by your priority or unlink those you don't want to be used.

Dennis Scholz: The problem becomes when you queue up 100s of roads and just have buy order in shop for different types of gravel. Starting to setup multiple stores with multiple stockpiles for each is too tedious
