Compared to hunting, fishing is really boring and annoying. In the first phase of the game, catching a few fish with a fishing rod can be nice and charged them. But in the later phases, only fish traps are used and even fishing boats are not good because fishing is tedious and you catch few fish. In the middle of the game, a shark can be used for a special meal that has a subtotal of 39 and 1.2k calories. But from 1 Bison I am able to cook 80 portions of baked roast with BU4 and AU4 which has a subtotal of 34 and 1k calories, that is 80k calories in total. So what would a shark be worth if I only made one meal out of it. In the later phases of the game, a meal is cooked from tuna and bison, but bison wins because catching tuna is not that easy and the other fish I catch have minimal value due to automatic traps. So the option is for the fishing boat to catch more fish or for those fish to be used to make more food, or both.
