The grill and chopping block are kinda already built-in now with general work of cooking meats now. But I like the blender idea and it probably could be introduced easily and help towards a cooking/farming specialization. Any idea on 1. What is needed to make a blender 2. Does the object get placed on its own pedestal small counter? (i.e. how do you envision getting it out of your backpack and placing it somewhere in the environment and what does it look like and where must it be placed?)
Thad Guidry Adding on additional tables to decrease calorie use or enable new recipes is nice, but more importantly fermentation should become a major part of the chef's repertoire, to create advanced middle-products that can be used for other professions - vinegars, alcohol and acids, anyone?
Satsuki Shizuka I think the game will generally stray away from alcohol… but the fermentation idea is something that could have a lot of potential! What if farmers were the ones to ferment/pickle their produce to extend preservation life and lead to new recipes for cooks?
Zachary Frederick That was the intention - to make spoiling goods non-spoiling by canning, jarring, preserving, and making them into...non-edible consumables. Alcohol (along with things like sulfuric acid) is used for plenty of industrial chemical applications, so instead of being "a drink", like ethanol (as we have with cutting edge cooking now) it could be an early fuel or middle resource for the future scientist job that'll be coming out with the new patch. As of the moment we already know petrochem and painting are part of this new job.
Satsuki Shizuka that’s true! Using alcohol-fermentation processes but not necessarily add potentially mature content I’d imagine they’d want to stray away from. Preservation of foods would be really nice to see.
I see it being a table of it's own and being used as a housing bonus for the kitchen room. Unless it could fall within the "placeables" off the grid system like the devs have shown will be a thing with plates of food and decoration items.
