I am too hungry to eat food off the floor!
I have ran out of food and someone tries to help by dropping me some of their own in their inventory (very nice of them). I can't eat that food because I am too hungry... wat. I can only stare at it but if we had a cart or a stockpile nearby we could place it in there and I can eat from there. It doesn't make much sense to us and is a little annoying :)

If there is a nearby public container you can always put the food in that public container and then the other person could eat from it. However I do agree there should be a way to maybe open a trade UI that you click on another player and it opens a trade ui that you can then trade food or other items directly to/from inventory.
