Basic meat preparation
If I can "char" a deer on a campfire and get a charred meat or two I should be able to butcher that deer for a piece of raw meat or two. Basically the Butcher would produce double or triple the amount of raw meat out of the same deer. In addition to being able to benefit from an upgrade. Same with fish. Could a basic knowledge of meat preparation allow bacon or sausages or roast? no. But it should allow a simple slab of meat.

It would make sense, but what addition to gameplay ? You already "butcher" a bit a deer (with bare hands I imagine here lol) with the campfire since you get charred meat as a result and not charred deer. Without a butcher you won't be able to really use this basic meat. Perhaps the hunter, available from the start profession and able to butcher the fish could have a basic recipe to extract some meat from carcass ?
